Weather Advisory
What type of weather or situation postpones or cancels the event?
1) A well timed storm that creates a Portland city wide parking ban (this is an automatic postponement to Sunday or permanent cancellation)
Reason: A parking ban will prohibit use of the sled hill due to residents utilizing the prom for emergency parking.
2) A very bad ice storm
3) Dangerous wind chills
or 4) the worst case scenerio, that there is not enough snow on the hill. (This event needs to have sledding).
What if the forcast is for snow or sleet during the event?
The Snowman will happen!! We run this event in any condition excluding the above scenerios. Please be prepared!
Will there be a place to keep warm?
Casco Bay Sports rents propane run standing heaters to place around the
main tent. Participants will be able to keep warm before, during, and after
the event.
When will we know if the event is postponed or cancelled?
Friday February 20th at 6:00 PM.
How will we know of postponement or cancellation?
1) The homepage of this website will have an update.
2) Our phone line will have a message (221-0203).
3) An email wil be sent to all participants at 6:00 PM.
